Unit Overview
- Medical Oncology Unit with 24 beds
- Staffed by 19 team members, including nursing leadership and new nurses onboarding
- Primary nursing care model with day and night shift coverage
- Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 5:1
- Utilizes a Meditech EMR system
- Remote telemetry monitoring with specific patient care protocols
- Current RN licensure with experience in Medical-Surgical nursing required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Chemotherapy certification and ACLS certification are desirable and considered an asset
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, collaborative attitude
- Ability to perform standard med-surg care and chemotherapy administration
- Deliver comprehensive patient care within a medical-surgical oncology setting
- Administer chemotherapy safely, adhering to unit guidelines requiring chemo certification
- Perform vital signs assessments regularly (every 8 hours, or every 4 hours for telemetry patients)
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams using advanced communication tools
- Uphold high standards of nursing practice reflective of a Magnet facility environment
